DineMemo Privacy Policy

This policy describes the handling of user information in the DineMemo application (the “App”).

1. Operator

The App is operated by MeshiMemo (the operator of DineMemo) (“we”). Contact: meshimemo.jp@gmail.com.

2. Information collected

• Information you register in the App, including place names, addresses, notes, ratings, visit dates, tags and photos.
• Your email address when registering or signing in, and verification codes used to confirm your identity.
• Email addresses and inquiry content provided when contacting us.
• Device GPS location used to display maps and your current location.
• Communication information used to prevent abuse, including IP addresses when submitting inquiries.
• Last-use time for account management.
• Device push-notification tokens and the language registered for each token, used to deliver group notifications in the appropriate language.
• If you use group sharing: display names, profile icons, group names, invitation and membership records, and place information, photos and messages posted in groups.

3. Where information is stored

Registered data is generally stored on your device. It may also be stored in Google Firebase cloud services as follows.

• When you sign in or register an account, records such as place names, ratings, notes, tags, addresses and coordinates are backed up to the cloud and can be carried over when changing devices or reinstalling the App.
• If you use paid DineMemo Plus, your registered photos are also stored in the cloud.
• If you do not sign in, your personal place records and photos are stored only on your device and are not backed up to the cloud. Deleting the App in this case deletes those records and photos. Information needed for maps, search, analytics and crash reporting is handled separately as described below.

Except for content shared in groups as described below, cloud data is protected so that only your own account can access it.

3-2. Group sharing

Group sharing lets invited members exchange place information and photos in private groups.

• Members of the same group can see your display name and icon, place names, addresses, notes, tags, photos and messages you post in that group, and notices when members join or leave.
• Photos may remain on other members' devices. Other members can import shared places into their own records. Imported photos are saved as part of their records and are not removed if you later delete your post.
• You can delete your own posts at any time. Group creators can delete any post in their group.
• If no group member has an active DineMemo Plus subscription, the group is suspended after 10 days. All posts and photos are deleted 30 days after suspension.
• Your ratings and visit dates are not sent to other members when you share a place.

4. Information sent to external services

The App sends information needed for these functions to external services.

• Google Maps Platform (Google LLC): search words, addresses, coordinates and related information for place search, map display, address/coordinate conversion and place photos.
• Google Firebase (Google LLC): account authentication, cloud storage of records and photos, and sending/processing verification codes and inquiry emails. Information is stored and processed on Google's servers.
• Apple, when using in-app purchases: Apple processes payment; we do not receive credit card information. We query Apple's servers to verify subscription validity.

4-2. Usage analytics

We use the following tools to improve the service. Place names, notes, photos and message content are not sent to these tools.

• App: Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google LLC) receive counts of actions such as screen views and saving, device/OS type, app version and crash information to improve features and address defects.
• Official website: Google Analytics (Google LLC) receives visited pages, button actions, device/browser type, approximate region and traffic sources to improve the site. Information is not sent when the browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting is enabled.

The recipient in both cases is Google LLC.

5. Purposes of use

Providing App features, including records, maps, search, photos, cloud synchronization and backup; account authentication and management; responding to inquiries; preventing abuse; investigating defects; and improving the service.

6. Account/data deletion and retention

You can delete your account and cloud records/photos at any time using Delete Account in the App. Deleted data cannot be restored.

Accounts unused for at least 12 months since the last App launch may be deleted together with related data after advance notice by email. Opening the App before deletion prevents this inactivity deletion.

7. Disclosure to third parties

We do not provide user information to third parties except when required by law. Transmission to Google and Apple is limited to what is necessary to provide App features.

When using group sharing, you disclose information to members of the same group through your own actions (see 3-2); this is not disclosure by us to third parties.

9. Children

The App is not specifically intended for young children. Minors should use it with a guardian's consent.

10. Policy changes

Changes to this policy will be announced by updating the policy page.
